Sticky Registration Source—This option applies to the Registration Source field on voter application forms. When this option is selected, the registration source selected for new and existing applicants is carried over for the next applicant during a single session of Application Forms so you don't have to select it again. When this box is cleared, the Registration Source field is blank when each application form opens.

Sticky Registration Date—This option applies to the Regn Date field on voter application forms. When this option is selected, the date entered for new applicants is carried over for the next applicant during a single Application Forms session so you don't have to enter it again. When this box is cleared, the Regn Date field is blank when you open an application form for a new applicant.

Spanish/English Dual Language—Prints a Spanish oath alongside the English oath on Early Voting Voter Certificates, on voter registration receipts, and at the top of the precinct register. For dual language printing, the precinct register size must be 12 (not 18) lines to the inch.

This option also controls whether Spanish appears as a choice in the Language field on the Incomplete Reasons and Denial Reasons dialogs. If Spanish/English Dual Language is selected, you have the ability to enter Spanish text for reasons provided on incomplete and denial notices. In this case, both the English and Spanish reasons appear on printed notices.

Creole Language Support—Selecting this option:

Pre-Check Application Boxes—Select to check or pre-fill fields in Application Forms, as shown below.

When selected, users must clear or change the default when applicable. When this System Option is cleared, all fields except County are empty when opening the form. In this case, users must select these fields, as appropriate.

Note: This setting does not affect the form for suspended applications in the Suspense Queue.

Use Scan First— Select to scan paper documents into the system prior to processing. Users then read the scanned image during processing.

Use Batch Selection— Select this option if your county processes scanned voter registration applications by batch.

Unknown Voter Addr in Petitions—Select this option to turn on functionality to save an address for an unknown voter.

Allow Send Referral Reason / Counted Flag Status to Web Immediately—Used to send ballot details to the Voter Information Lookup module on your VR Tower website. This option has several functions when selected:

  • Passes referral reasons and counted status for each affected voter from Voter Focus to the Voter Information page automatically each night using the VRScheduler - UpdateWebHosting program. This nightly run updates the Ballot Status progress bar on that page as follows:
    • 3 Received—For referred ballots, any reason for a referral can be shown.
    • When this option is not selected, the referral detail shown on the Voter Information page is limited to reasons that are curable, such as a missing signature, signature mismatch, or undeliverable ballot.

    • 4 Counted—Updates the status to show Counted for ballots that were returned and processed as accepted. Voters do not have to wait until after the election to see if their ballot was counted.
    • When this option is not selected, ballots are not shown as Counted or Not Counted on the Voter Information page until 12:00 AM on the day after the election.

  • Enables the Mark As Counted check box on the Review Returned Ballots dialog. When selected and the ballot is reinstated, the ballot is flagged as counted.
  • Note: At this time, the counted flag is only used internally. An update to apply this setting may be included in the future.
  • Enables the Set "Marked As Counted" Flag for Returned Ballots button on the Vote-By-Mail Utilities dialog. When run, this utility flags as counted all voter ballots that were recorded as voted or were reinstated since the last run and audits this event for the affected voters.
  • Note: At this time, the counted flag is only used internally. An update to apply this setting may be included in the future.
Note: You must be granted the VoteByMailUtilities permission to set this option.

Vault Root Folder—Displays the top level folder for the Elections Vault. To specify a folder, or to change the current folder, click Browse Folders. The folder should be specified in UNC format. For example: \\server name\folder name rather than by drive letter. If you change the folder, all future files will be placed in the new folder; files previously stored in the older folder will remain in the old folder. See Store Election Data in the Vault for more information on the vault feature.

Address Label Data Line Style—Controls the information shown on the top line of election worker address labels printed individually from the Worker Maintenance dialog, election worker address labels, candidate address labels and labels created in FlexRep. The setting here does not affect the data contained in the candidate label or FlexRep export files.

  • Regn, Party, Prect, Sex, Race, Status—Shows the data items in the top line, as illustrated here.
  • Regn, Prect—Shows the voter registration number and precinct in the top line.
  • Regn—Shows only the voter registration number in the top line.

Disconnected Mode—This feature lets you run Voter Focus independently of the FVRS system. To turn off your FVRS connection, click Run Disconnected. Voter Focus dialogs will indicate the disconnected state by displaying (without FVRS) in their title bars. In disconnected mode, users can perform any of the tasks listed in Using Voter Focus without FVRS. To reconnect to FVRS, click Run Normally. See About Disconnected Mode for more information on this feature.

Precinct Number Style—This option was set by VR Systems when your Voter Focus system was installed or during the last redistricting effort. For more information on precinct numbering, see About Precinct IDs.
