Create a Database Export to Export Information for Activator Images
Perform a database export before creating the activator image for election day voting activators. It is preferable that this be done after Early Voting has ended and you have post-processed your Early Voting activators; however, if that is not logistically possible, wait as long as you can to ensure your election day activators are as up to date as possible when they are started. This minimizes the amount of updates transactions that an EViD has to download from the EViD Web Service when it is started.
Ensure that the workstation you are using to create the database export has been updated.
Ensure that the Prerequisites for Early Voting or Election Day Database Exports have been completed.
Run Voter Focus and go to the EViD tab.
Verify that the Web Messenger program is running by checking its button on the EViD tab; the button should NOT be red.
On the
EViD Database Export dialog,
select Election.
The number of the current default election (as defined in the Voter Focus
Elections application) is displayed in the box below the Select Election button. If
this isn’t the election you want, click Select
Election, and choose the correct one.
If this
is the first export created for this election, select the Check
here if this is a Baseline Export check box. If the program detects
that a baseline
export has already been done, the following message appears:
Click OK if you want to create a new baseline export stamped with today’s date. Click Cancel if you want to stop the database export process and keep the current baseline export.
Click Export. The Verify Export Information dialog will appear, showing you the system options that are currently selected.
If you see an option that’s incorrect, click Cancel and follow the instructions in Setting the Systemwide Options to make the change. Then repeat the current procedure from step 3.
If the options are set properly, click OK to proceed with the export. Two command windows will appear during the process. When you see a message indicating the export is complete, click Exit to finish the process.
You are now ready to create an activator image.
