How to Change a Voter's Party
Voters who want to change their political party affiliation can notify the Supervisor of Elections via a signed written notice containing their date of birth and voter registration number.
Note Voters can also submit party changes on voter registration applications. For instructions on processing party changes from applications, see Name, Address, and Party Changes from an NVRA or FPCA Form.
To change a voter's party upon receipt of a written notice:
Go to VOTER REGISTRATION > Voter Maintenance and find the voter's record.
On the voter's Maint tab, select their new party from the drop-down list in the Party field.
Click Voter Response.
On the Voter Response dialog, select the type of notice from the drop-down list for Communication Type. Add any remarks you want to make to the Comments field. Click OK to save the voter response.
Save the voter's record to save the party change. FVRS will schedule a voter information card.
If the party change comes via a written notice from a voter who is moving into your county, you should do the move-in address change first. Then change the voter's party as described above.
