System Options—Image Indexing

The Image Indexing tab defines setting for scanned and indexed images of voter registration forms and other paper documents. At the time of this writing, these settings were editable by VR Systems personnel only, so if you need a change, you must contact VR Systems.

Work Area for Scanned Images—Scanned images are stored in a temporary work area on your network where they remain until they are indexed to voter records. This field specifies this temporary work area. Typically it is I:\WorkSig, but you can designate a different folder if you wish.

Default Clip Code—Specifies the first clip code that appears in the Clip Code drop-down list on the Application Document and Indexing Scanned Front of Card Img dialogs used when indexing images to voter records. All clip codes in these drop-down lists are defined on the Clip Codes tab.

Stored Image First Node—The format of the first node of image path names (after the drive letter or server name). To designate this format, enter a prefix followed by a comma and then a number indicating how many numeric places will be accommodated in the prefix. For example, if you enter VT,2 in this field, the first node of image path names will be VT01 through VT99.

Stored Image Second Node—The format of the second node of image path names. As with the first node, enter a prefix, a comma, and a number indicating the number of places. For example, if you enter D,4 in this field, the second node of image path names will be D0001 through D9999.

Using the examples noted here, the format for indexed-image pathnames would be:

driveletter:\VTnn\Dnnnn\voterid.nnn

or

\\servername\drivename\VTnn\Dnnnn\voterid.nnn

The three-digit extension (nnn) at the end of the path name represents the number of images in the folder for the voter.

Drive for Indexed Images—The indexing process moves the indexed image to the permanent network location designated for scanned images. This field specifies this permanent location. The format here can be:

\\servername\drivename\

or

driveletter\

Backup Storage Location for Images—Specifies the second network location for images in systems using live double-storage.
