The purpose of the Street Maintenance program (run via STREETS AND PRECINCTS > Street Maintenance) is to maintain the streets table (Streetm) in the Voter Focus database. The completeness and accuracy of the streets table is fundamental to the working of the entire voter registration system. The streets table defines all street segments in the county. All voter residential addresses must be validated against the streets table, meaning that each voter's street address must match a street segment defined in the database as a valid residential street. In the streets table, each street-segment must be assigned to a precinct or precinct split.
The database records for precincts and precinct splits are maintained via STREETS AND PRECINCTS > Precinct Maintenance. Each precinct record includes the voting districts to which the precinct or precinct split is assigned. So the validation of a voter's residential address in their voter record not only verifies that the address belongs to a street segment in the database, it also loads the precinct and district assignments for that segment into the voter's record.

The Integrity Check program should be run regularly to check for segment overlaps and invalid street addresses. The only acceptable standard for the Integrity Check is an empty report. If you enter an election cycle with integrity problems, voters could be assigned to the wrong precinct or might be omitted from the precinct register. |
This report lists voters that are currently marked as having invalid addresses. The check by this report is not as thorough as the Integrity Check report, but it runs more quickly and is less resource-intensive. |
This program lets you move multiple street segments to a new precinct or precinct split in one operation. Voter information cards are automatically scheduled for voters affected by the move. |
This program cleans up many database issues that might arise when moving district boundaries. |
