These options can be found in VOTER FOCUS ADMIN > System Options > Street Maintenance.

System Option

Description

Street Maintenance Method

Identifies the method your county uses to maintain the street-segment records in the street (Streetm) table. We recommend that you not change the setting of this option without first discussing the change with VR Systems.

1, Voter Focus—The street table is maintained by county users through dialogs in the Streets application. This is the default setting.

2, GeoElections—The street table is maintained using data imported from the county's GeoElections® system.

3, Voter Focus GIS Interface—The street table is maintained using data imported from GIS systems other than GeoElections.

Redistricting will not move a voter across a Zip Code Boundary

Select this option if your county has situations where the same street address exists in two or more cities. This will prevent the Redistricting Update program from incorrectly moving a voter from one city to another.

Cursor Stops in Address Dir Field

This option is useful for counties who normally use a street direction (N, NE, etc.) in residential addresses. It adds the Dir field to the stops made by the cursor when a user is tabbing through residence-address fields.

County Does not Use Voter Focus City Election

This option is maintained by VR Systems and cannot be changed.

District Type used for Cities

This option is maintained by VR Systems and should not be changed without consulting us first.

Select the district type code your county uses for city districts. The district type must be defined in VOTER FOCUS ADMIN > System Code Tables > District Types before the district type can appear in this list. If you select a value in this field, you must also select a value in District Type Used for Wards.

The Redistricting Update run inserts the appropriate city-district number into the City field for each street segment. (You can see this on the Street Segment Maintenance dialog.)

District Type used for Wards

This option is maintained by VR Systems and should not be changed without consulting us first.

Select the district type your county uses for city wards. The district type must be defined in VOTER FOCUS ADMIN > System Code Tables > District Types before the district type can appear in this list.

The following option can be found in VOTER FOCUS ADMIN > System Options > System Options.

System Option

Description

Force City Ward = Precinct

This option is maintained by VR Systems.

It is an artifact of the old city-code method of defining cities and city wards an is retained in the system for maintenance reasons. Its purpose was to ensure that the city ward number would always be the same as the precinct to which a street segment is assigned. It was useful for counties that do not have split precincts for the purpose of maintaining city boundaries and their voters always vote at the same location in city elections as in general elections.
