Colors Indicating Type of Match in Application Search Results

When you conduct an application search for a voter record, possible matches are returned in a color-coded list sorted with the most likely matches listed first.

Note: A match must have the specific data as noted below for color coding to be applied. For example, a first name-middle name-birth date match is not shown as red because the match includes the middle name.

Color

Match Type

Green

Driver license match

Orange

Birth date, last-name, first-name, and middle-name match

Aqua

Birth date, last-name, and first-name match

Yellow

Last-name, first-name, and middle-name match

Gray

Last-name and initial-of-first-name match

Red

Birth date and first name or middle name that matches last name

Red

Birthday and first name match (to find voters who have changed their last name)

White

Last four digits of Social Security Number and first or last name match

Note:
  • If you used a wildcard (%) to search, white indicates any other type of match, in addition to the ones noted above.
  • Be aware that wildcards used with Application Search typically increase the size of the results list.
