About

the VoterLookup Program

Note  VoterLookup is a legacy application that VR Systems continues to support for counties that wish to use it.

The modern interface to the same information is via Voter Verify, our app for mobile devices that accesses voter information from the web. Voter Verify is easy to set up and easy to use. For more about Voter Verify, see the Voter Verify help topics.

VoterLookup is an external Voter Focus application that gives poll workers and other election officials non-networked access to information about the county’s voters. By "external," we mean that VoterLookup is not available from the Voter Focus console but must be installed separately. It is usually installed on laptop computers that are then taken to remote locations such as polling places and voter-outreach venues. VoterLookup is an entirely standalone application accessing it own internal database of voter data, including signatures. No network connection to the county database or FVRS is necessary.

VoterLookup is a useful tool at the polling place and at non-voting venues such as voter-outreach events. When assigned to a poll worker clerk, a VoterLookup workstation can be used to verify voter eligibility on election day, saving the clerk a call to the elections office. At voter-outreach events, a VoterLookup workstation can be used to determine whether a voter is registered and to verify whether their address, party, and other registration information is up-to-date.

To run VoterLookup, the workstation must be equipped with the necessary SQL and VoterLookup software as well as a file of voter information from your county's Voter Focus database. For instructions on setting up a VoterLookup workstation, see the online manual VoterLookup Setup and User Guide. This manual can be downloaded from the VR Systems customer website or ask VR Systems Customer Support to email a copy to you.
