Create a Precinct Split

Note  If you are unfamiliar with the way your county numbers precincts, refer to About Precinct IDs before you create a precinct.

To create a new precinct split:

1.     Go to STREETS AND PRECINCTS > Precinct Maintenance.

2.     On the Select Precinct dialog, select the precinct you want to create a split for.

3.     On the Precinct Maintenance dialog, you have the option of creating a precinct split "from scratch" with no districts pre-selected, or you can create a precinct split using the district assignments from another precinct split or the main precinct, changing only the district assignments that are different.

To start from scratch with no district assignments, click New Precinct Split.

To copy the district assignments from an existing split, highlight the precinct split you want to copy and click New Split like....

4.     On the Enter New Precinct Split dialog, enter the precinct split ID in the Split ID field. Click OK.

5.     On the District and City Assignment dialog, select the districts for the new precinct split. See How to Assign Districts to a Precinct or Precinct Split for instructions.

After assigning districts to the precinct split, you are returned to the Precinct Maintenance dialog where you will see the new precinct split in the list along with its district assignments for the five standard district types.
