About
Voter Label is a program that must be running on your workstation in order to print a single voter label directly from a voter's record, either by itself or along with a voter information card.
Voter labels are not address labels; they are typically used for filing labels in the elections office.
The format of your voter labels is defined as a notice in Document Maintenance. See How to Format a Voter Label for a DYMO Printer for instructions on setting up a voter label.
In addition to running the Voter Label program on the network and having the voter label notice defined in Document Maintenance, the following things must also be set up to enable printing of voter labels from voter records:
In VOTER FOCUS ADMIN > System Options > VIC Options, the option Immediate Printing of Label Permitted must be selected.
A printer where labels will print can be selected under PRINTING > Voter Label > View > Options > Printer Controlled by the program in the VoterLabel program. If selected, this printer will override the printer selected in Document Maintenance. After viewing the printer, you must then click Restart Processing to unpause the program. If you change the printer, you must close the Voter Label and then restart it from PRINTING > Voter Label to have the new printer take effect.
VF-250 complains about having to restart program to have printer take effect. Restart Processing command ought to do it.
To enable automatic printing of a voter label whenever you print a voter information card you also need to select the option County Uses Voter Labels in VOTER FOCUS ADMIN > System Options. The label will be printed with the card, regardless of where you initiate printing: from the voter's record or from the Notices Queue.
To run the Voter Label program, go to PRINTING > Voter Label.
The Voter Label dialog will appear, with the text Labels Waiting in the dialog's title area. The Labels Waiting message confirms that the Voter Label program is in the processing state and is ready to process printing. If instead the message is Labels Paused, you must click Restart Processing to get it going.
To print a label from the voter's record, see How to Print a Single Voter Label. If the Voter Label program is not running, the label will not print immediately; it will instead be scheduled in the Notices Queue.
Note The Voter Label program need not be running to print voter labels from the Notices Queue, but it must be running to print labels from a voter's record.
