Track Email and Fax Pending Requests
Texas law allows voters to request a mail ballot by sending their application to their county via email or fax. When these request methods are used, voters must also provide the county the original completed copy of the paper application within four business days of receipt of the initial application sent via email or fax. If a voter does not meet this deadline, the ABBM request must be rejected.
In Voter Focus, after an ABBM sent by email or fax is accepted, the request is sent to the Pending Requests Queue. This queue allows you to reject the email and fax requests that are past the four business day deadline with no receipt of the original application.

- Go to Ballot By Mail > Pending Requests Queue. The Pending ABBM Requests dialog displays.
- Select the deadline date and click OK. Requests with the following are listed:
- A requested date that is on or before the deadline date.
- An Email or a Fax requested delivery type.
- A Pending status.
- Select the check box in the row for one or more requests you would like to reject, or select the check box in the header to select all requests in the list.
- Click Schedule Rejection to do the following:
- Remove the request from the queue.
- Send a rejection notice to the voter for each rejected request stating that an original copy of the ABBM was not received.
- Update the Request Status accessed from the Ballot By Mail tab in Voter Maintenance to Request Rejected.
- Update the Voter Activity Date on the Activity tab in Voter Maintenance to the current date.
