User Permissions Affecting Vote-by-Mail Functions

The functions related to voting by mail can be configured to reveal features to some user types while hiding them from others. This is done by granting or withholding permissions to user types in VOTER FOCUS ADMIN > User Permissions. (See How to Enable/Disable Features in Voter Focus for instructions.)

Change the focused election in which they are working. If the user does not have this permission, their focused election will be the default election.

DeliverBallots

Allows the printing of envelopes and labels for mail ballots, the delivery of ballots by email, the recording of ballot delivery by fax, the export of mail-ballot voter information to a file for commercial printing.

If the county has Pitney Bowes Relia-Vote or another third-party mail-balloting system, this permission also permits the preparation of export files for the third-party system.

GenericEnvelopeReaderUtilities

Generate reference signatures for pickup mail ballots.

Create Export of Mail-Ballot Status Data and Envelope Reader Referred Ballots by Tray report.

Review requests for mail ballots submitted on your website and process them into voter records to create the requests.

VoteByMailFraudDetection

New permission in Release 14.0.

Allows user to view and manage suspect vote-by-mail requests submitted on the county website.

VoteByMailNotifications

Create batches of emails and schedule printing notices to mail-ballot voters to help them stay informed about their mail request/ballot.
