About

The SY02 Files

The SY02 file is a result of comparison processing between the voter registration data on FVRS and the corresponding records on your county database. Usually a difference occurs because of a brief communications lapse between the two systems and is not indicative of a serious problem. SY02 processing automatically attempts to fix (remediate) any differences so that the state and local records match. These remediations are listed in the file along with any data differences that could not be fixed automatically.

Processing of SY02 data is done on a weekly basis. The resulting SY02 file is sent to VR Systems and a copy is also placed on your county's network in:

\Vr6Sharedbinaries\Work\SY02<your 3-digit county code>errors<time and date of processing>

If more than four SY02 files are present in the folder, the oldest one is deleted when the new one is copied into the folder.

At VR Systems, we examine your county's file for critical errors, research why they occurred and, if possible, make the necessary adjustments to bring the data in the two systems into sync. We will not contact you about any differences we find, unless they indicate an underlying issue that needs your attention.
