The Test SQL Database function in Remote Tech Utilities—like the same function in Tech Utilities—lets you perform a remote test of the integrity of the EViD’s database, which holds voter data for the election. It should be run only if you suspect the database might be corrupted. This might be indicated by being able to find a voter by name but not by FVRS number (or vice versa), being able to find voters by birthdate but not by name or FVRS #, and not being able to find any voters at all.
Be aware that the test takes over the EViD station, so no other activities can be performed while the test is running. The length of the test varies depending on the database size; the average time to run is five minutes. If the test fails, you should replace the EViD station with a spare.
To run the test:
In Remote Tech Utilities, click the Test
SQL Database button in the Functions list.
You will see the following box.
Click Yes to send a request for the test to the EViD station. You will see the message "Waiting for EViD..." while the EViD user clicks Support Request and responds to the request on their side. When the test is finished, you will see the message "Test of SQL Database successful."
