This topic explains how to add one or more items to the Equipment tab of a single location.
Note If you have a large number of items to add, or want to add items for multiple locations, consider using the import facility instead of the manual procedure described here. For instructions, see How to Import Items into the Equipment Tab.
Before adding items, you must have at least one equipment type specified for your system, because each item is required to be assigned an equipment type before it can be added to the Equipment tab. For instructions, see How to Create an Equipment Type.
To add one or more items to a place's Equipment tab:
On the CallTrack dialog, verify that the correct election is selected in the upper-right corner. The currently selected place in the Precinct/Location field will not be used by this procedure, so you can leave this field alone.
On the menu bar, click Maintenance > Maintain Equipment List. The Maintain Equipment List dialog appears.
In the upper-right corner of the dialog, verify that the place ID of the location where you want to add the equipment items is displayed in the Place ID field. If it is not, use the Prior, Next, Select Place, or Change Place Type buttons to select the correct place.
Any items that were previously added for this location, either manually or through the import facility, will be shown in the list.
In the row marked with an asterisk (),
click in the Equipment Type
field and select an equipment type appropriate for the item. A selection
in this field is required. If an appropriate equipment type is not
listed here, cancel out of the Maintain
Equipment List dialog and create a new equipment
type for this item.
Tab to the Serial Number field and enter the item's serial number. An entry in this field is required, so if the item has no serial number, we suggest you enter zero (0), N/A, or some other value indicating the absence of a serial number.
If you want to record any remarks about the item, tab to the Comments field and type your remarks.
Tab to the next row and enter the information for another item.
When you have finished entering items, click Save.
