Military/Overseas/Default Absentee Address/Supervised Voter Indicator in the Voter Record

When a voter has been recorded as military, military dependent, overseas, or has requested supervised voting, the text Military, Military Dependent, Overseas, or Supervised Voter respectively, appears in the lower-left corner of the Maint tab in the voter's record. If a voter has multiple states, all applicable states appear.

If the voter has a default ballot address on the Vote-By-Mail Addresses dialog, the text Def-AbsAdd will appear in the same area.

To record a new voter as military or military dependent, select the Mil or Mil Dependent box on the New Voter dialog. Once a voter has been registered, the military/military dependent setting can be maintained on the voter's Vote-By-Mail tab by changing the setting of the Military and Mil Dep boxes.

To record a voter as requesting supervised voting, select the Supervised Voting box on the voter's application or the Vote-By-Mail tab on their record.

To set a voter as an overseas voter, a value must be entered in the Country field:

  • in the voter's mailing address on the Maint tab

    or

  • in the Default Ballot Address fields on the Vote-By-Mail Addresses dialog.

    or

  • The text APO, DPO, or FPO must appear in the City field and an APO/DPO/FPO address must be entered in the State and Zip fields.

    or

  • The City field must contain Dulles and the State field must be VA.

If the overseas address is in the Default Ballot Address fields, there must be an outstanding Vote-By-Mail request for an upcoming election in order for the Overseas indicator to appear on the Maint tab.

The Overseas indicator does not appear on the Maint tab if the voter's only overseas address is in the Ballot Address for this Election fields on the Vote-By-Mail Addresses dialog. This is because their overseas address is for one election only.
