Block the Return of a Voter's Mail Ballot

Voter Focus lets you block the return of mail ballots from a voter who, although issued one or more mail ballots, voted during early voting or at the polls on Election Day. For instance, say a voter mails in his ballot, but then becomes concerned that it won’t reach the elections office in time to be counted. So on Election Day, the voter goes to the polls. When he checks in, he mentions that he has also mailed in a ballot.

The Clerk can then contact the elections office to verify that the voter’s mail ballot has not yet been processed as returned. If the mail ballot has already been returned, the voter should be given a provisional ballot at the polls. If the mail ballot has not been returned, the elections office should block return of the ballot, using the procedure below. This will block the return of all mail ballots issued to the voter for this election.

The mail ballot is not rejected; it is simply put on hold so that it cannot be returned.
