Place Maintenance—Precincts Tab

To access:  ELECTIONS > Place Maintenance > {place} > Precincts

This tab is active only for the V, Precinct poll work place type.

The selected precincts that are listed on this tab are the precincts that normally vote at the polling place. Temporary reassignment of a precinct to a different polling place for one election does not affect the list here.

To add a precinct to the list, click Add Precincts and select the precincts you want to add to this polling place.

Important: The selections on this tab apply only to the election that is in focus. Before updating this tab, you must first ensure the correct election is in focus. To assign the precincts that normally vote at the polling place for another election, you must first change the focused election.

You cannot delete a precinct from a polling place; doing so might orphan a precinct. To remove a precinct from a polling place, go to the record for the precinct's new polling place and add it there. It will be automatically removed from its original polling place.

Precinct splits are not shown here because precinct splits cannot be assigned to a polling place different from their parent precinct unless they are first combined with themselves or another precinct. See Change a Precinct's Polling Place for a Single Election for more information.

If a precinct that provides an election board for another precinct is assigned to the polling place, the other precinct will also be assigned to the same polling place automatically.
