Change Petition Focus
The petition in focus is the petition against which activities by
the user are performed—verifying signatures
When there are multiple
petitions in a batch, the focus extends to the batch level and the
user will only be able to verify signatures in that batch. Any reports
that are batch-specific will show data only for the batch in focus.
If a user is assigned to only one petition or petition batch, that petition (and batch) is the one in focus. In this case, the user cannot change the focus to another petition.
To change the petition in focus, you need the permission Petitions Allow Petn Selection.
-
On the Petitions tab, click Change Petition Focus.
-
On the Select Petition dialog, highlight the petition you want to be in focus. If the petition has more than one batch, you can focus on a particular batch by clicking the sign to expand the entry for that petition and highlighting a batch. If you do not select a batch, the focus will be on batch 1.
You can restrict the list to candidate petitions or to initiative petitions by selecting an option in Select Petition Types. Closed petitions do not appear in the list unless you select Show Closed Petitions.
-
Click Select. The petition in focus will change to reflect the petition and batch you selected.
Regardless of the petition in focus, you can navigate through the list of petitions and petition batches to view or change settings.
- Go to Petitions > Petition Maintenance.
- Click Find on the toolbar.
- Highlight a petition in the list or, if you want to open a particular petition batch, click the sign next to a petition and highlight a batch.
- Click Select to open the petition or batch settings.
- From the open petition or batch, you can continue navigating between petitions and batches using the Prior and Next buttons on the toolbar. These buttons are available until you edit and save your changes.
