Assign a Petition Batch to a User
Voter Focus gives elections offices the option of creating batches within a petition and then assigning batches to individual users. Dividing incoming petitions into batches helps you manage the signature-verification process.
Users assigned to a petition batch will then be able to only verify signatures and run reports for that batch.
It's not mandatory to assign users to petition batches. This feature is optional for those offices that prefer to restrict user access to specific petitions or batches.
Once a petition has been assigned to a user, that user must restart Voter Focus to see the change.
Voter Focus permits the assignment of multiple users to a batch, but we recommend you avoid this because it can lead to confusion about which batch is being worked by whom.
-
Go to PETITIONS > Assign Petitions.
-
On the Assign Petition Numbers to Users dialog, highlight the user you want to assign to a petition batch.
-
Click Select Petition for this User.
-
On the Select Petition dialog, highlight the petition you want to assign to the user.
If the petition has more than one batch, you'll see a plus sign () next to the petition name. Click to list the batches for the petition and highlight the batch you want to assign to the user. If you select only the petition without selecting a batch, the user will automatically be assigned to batch 1.
Click Select. The user's row on the Assign Petition Numbers to Users dialog is updated to show the assigned petition and batch.
