Managing Election Worker Classes
There are two ways to add a training class for election workers:
- Create a new class from scratch.
- Add offerings to an existing class.
Once a class has been created, you can:
- Publish the class to make it available for workers to enroll.
- Create class offerings.
- Assign workers to the class.

Before getting started, make sure:
- Your positions and the pay items are up to date. Depending on how election workers are paid for training, you can either include this as a pay item for the position or you can add the pay when creating a class.
- Everyone working the upcoming election is assigned the correct position. This will help ensure that all election workers will be assigned to the correct class and work shift.

- Click CLASSES in the menu bar.
- Locate the class you want to publish. In the Actions column, click Publish. The class and course offerings become visible on the worker side of Election Worker Portal.
The Begin Course Enrollments notification requesting class enrollment is automatically sent to the following:
- Workers whose position is required to attend the class
- Workers whose home precinct is eligible to vote in the election
The notification is sent individually by email or by text message, based on each worker's record setup.
You can manually assign workers in any precinct with or without the class being published from the Class Offerings or Available Worker List page. See Assign Works to Classes to learn how.
Classes can only be published once. Any new class offerings added to the class automatically appear as an option for workers to choose from.
