Setting the Station Options

This function lets you change certain of the options governing the capabilities of the EViD station.

To modify these options, click the EViD Options button in the Functions list. You will see the following box:

  • Tech Utilities Date—A code—in the form of an invalid date—that a technician enters to access the Tech Utilities dialog on an EViD station.
  • Clerk Utilities Date—A code—in the form of an invalid date—that a precinct clerk or early voting worker enters to access the subset of tech utilities available to clerks on the Clerk Utilities dialog.
  • Allow Address Override—Permits the EViD operator to  change a voter’s address to an address not found in your database. In such cases, the EViD will display this message:

Residence address cannot be located as entered.

Press No to correct the address, Yes to store address as it is and manually select voter’s correct precinct.

  • Allow Change Mailing Address—This option permits the EViD operator to make changes to voter mailing addresses.
  • Can’t Be King—Applies only to EViDs at locations where all EViD stations are directly connected to the internet. Selecting this option prevents the EViD station from promoting itself to “king” in the event the location’s assigned EViD king temporarily loses its internet connection. Preventing the station from promoting itself keeps it from transmitting updates to other EViD stations, which can be an inefficient use of resources in an environment where the assigned king is likely to have it connection restored momentarily. This option is mainly used for troubleshooting.

Select the new settings and click Yes to apply the changes to the EViD station immediately. When this has happened, you will see the message EViD Options changed successfully.
