Test EViD Activators Prior to Use

Once you have created your EViD activators for early voting or Election Day, you should test the activators. At a minimum, we recommend that you test one activator for each activator image you have created.

Important: Activator testing should be completed early enough that you have time to create new activators for the election if any problems are identified.
  1. Set up an EViD station, connect, and power on an EViD station.
  2. Insert the activator you need to test in to a USB port on the EViD, or for EViD Edges, a USB port on the EViD stand.
  3. Press the power button to power on the EViD. Once EViD Workstation starts, if the EViD station encounters no problems obtaining information from the activator, a startup ticket will print after the Election worker login screen.
  4. If you have no other activators to test, press Exit > Exit Program to power down and close the EViD station. If you have additional activators to test, replace the EViD activator and press Exit > Restart Program. The activator that is plugged in will load when EViD Workstation starts up again.
  5. Repeat this process for each activator you need to test.

You are now ready to load the activators onto the EViD stations.
