Create, Load, and Test Activators

Activators are portable data storage devices that contain voter data, system settings, and other information needed for an election. An image of this data is created, and then copied to the storage devices. For each election, there are three activator types, each with its own distinct set of data: Staging, Early Voting, and Election Day.

Prior to the start of Early Voting or Election Day, a worker at the voting site plugs an activator into each EViD station. The information is then copied automatically to the EViDs. All activators are the same for any given election and can be used with any EViD station.
